Tire Carrier Hub & Spindle Kit - Side Mount Double Shear Kit is designed to be used as a pivot point for tire carrier builds on Jeeps or other vehicles but we have also seen them used in other applications where a heavy duty pivot is needed. If you need a heavy duty pivot this is it. This kit contains a heavy duty hub, utilizing tapered roller bearings and two spindles one from the bottom and one from the top. The bottom plate and top plate are 3/8" thick, the gussets are 1/4" thick. The spindles are machined from 1.25" solid steel bar. DOUBLE SHEAR - This is a double shear kit which means that it has two spindles one that comes in from the top one in the bottom. This doubles the shear strength of the unit over other hub and spindle kits that only use a spindle coming from the bottom. We do have single shear kits available if you are looking for those. We also have a side mount double shear tire carrier hub and spindle kit. Kit also includes two seals, a shim set to allow you to adjust the preload on the bearings and a grease zerk. The hub is 4" tall with an outside diameter of 2.5" and a 3/8" wall between the bearing races. Assembled the kit is 5.75-6.00" tall, 2.5" wide and 6.13" long. Kit comes as loose parts and requires that the kit be welded together. Instructions are included. Items returned after 30 days are subject to 20% restocking fee.
